Resolved Question: Texas Rental Laws - Only answer if you KNOW. Please!?
I am currently renting a trailer home from a woman here in Big Lake Texas. She is renouned for being a pest and an aweful landlord. Here is my main situation and then some questions, if you KNOW the answers, please post, if not, don’t just guess, thank you!

1) I have to pay my own utilities (All of them)
2) I am responsible for my own lawn care, even though every other lot (With travel trailers, not mobile homes) are mowed by the landlord
3) She constantly comes over and bugs me.
4) When she made out the lease, she left the end date open.

Questions:

Is she required by law to pay ANY of my utilities? I pay gas, sewer, garbage disposal, electric and water.

Is she allowed, by law, to enter my property on a monthly basis to perform an “inspection” of the premesis? It is not in the lease as far as I can tell

How can I demand she stops doing anything she’s not allowed to without her simply writing in next month as my lease end?

PLEASE HELP! I can’t stand it anymore, and
there are litterally no more rental properties available in this town of 2500 people. I cannot move anywhere else as the next large town is 70 miles away and I work 15 hours a day.

I do not want this woman coming into my home on a monthly basis, there is no need for it, and it’s very intrusive, yet I’m scared to stand up to her for fear of losing my home.

Resolved Question: To home inspect or not - that is the question?
So this morning my husband tells me that if our new mortgage company doesn’t require us to have a home inspection on the home we’re purchasing, he doesn’t want to waste the money on a home inspection. I argue that we should because it’s important and they might find something. He said that he knows what to look for (he’s in construction) and that his uncle knows about plumbing, electrical, and pest issues and we can have him look at it too for free. I have faith in my husband that he knows his stuff, but at the same time… lol.. I’d feel safer just having a home inspector check it out. What do you think?
Just wanted to add that the house is As Is (foreclosed property), so we couldn’t ask the seller to fix anything anyway
