Resolved Question: Is the landlord responsible if you get hurt?
We have had ice here and I slipped off the porch and broke my wrist. My Dad had a friend come over and look at the gutter above the porch and he said it was installed wrong. He does home inspections and said that if she sold the house she would have to fix it. The gutter was to far away from the house so all the water from the roof was falling onto the porch. He took pictures of it and then fixed it. I don’t have insurance so as of now we have had to pay $750 for x-rays and the cast. I told her about it and she made it seem like it wasn’t her fault and that the money I paid for the new gutter was just at my expense. Should she be responsible since she didn’t have the gutter installed correctly? I know I should have been more careful. I was carrying my baby out so I held on to him in his carseat and had to use my 1 free hand to break the fall.
I did call her and tell her it needed to be fixed after it happened. She told me it would be about 2 weeks before she could get someone out there to fix it.
