Resolved Question: Why were Doom’s soldiers so backward?
(I just finally watched this, so please forgive me, but…) it always bothers me when movies don’t make internal sense. In Doom, they obviously have advanced technologies, but why do the soldiers NOT have the following:

(1) Nightvision, or some other low-light optics?
(2) Better weapons? (Sarge’s limited use of the BFG sucked)
(3) Motion, infrared, or life-signs detectors?
(4) Remote camera/weapons platforms/robots?
(5) Flashbangs and other similar items?

AND why didn’t they just plant lights everywhere they went? It was very frustrating because they could’ve had the same kind of story arc without making the soldiers look stupid and under-equipped.

AND I can’t believe they ran the assault according to any doctrine that any special ops teams use. I think they made every stupid mistake in the book, and then some.
