Resolved Question: How warped is it to spread sinister messages through something as innocuous & innocent as a women’s magazine?
London, Apr 15 (ANI): A collection of Nazi women’s magazines featuring knitting patterns, fashion advice, and at the same time blaming the British for WWII are set to be auctioned.
The Frauen Warte, literally translated as Women Wait, had been designed for German housewives.
However, on closer inspection, they were discovered to contain a more sinister purpose.
The magazines featured a number of celebrities, including leading Nazi Hermann Goering, and had stories on home economics and fashion news mixed with those about Britain’s culpability in the devastating conflict.
The Frauen Warte, which ran from 1935 to 1945 and was the Nazi Party’s biweekly-illustrated magazine for women, had a circulation of nearly two million at its peak.
Now, a total of 65 editions will go under the hammer on April 23 at Ludlow Racecourse in Shropshire as part of an auction held by Mullocks Auctioneers.
It was compiled by an English collector from sales in Germany, and will be auctioned together with Boys Own-style magazines aimed at schoolboys extolling the virtues of shooting down English aircraft and blowing up English ships.
“As you turn through these pages you get an incredibly creepy feeling about these magazines as you realise they are not what they appear to be,” the Telegraph quoted the firm’s historical documents expert Richard Westwood-Brookes as saying.
“It shows the Nazi machine was so well-oiled it infiltrated every single area of human society.
“It’s a frighteningly cunning way to get everyone thinking along the same lines, women would get together to talk about things and this would be how these messages spread,” he added.
The women’s magazines have a guide price of between 500 pounds and 700 pounds. (ANI)

Resolved Question: I’m 21 but I REALLY like a 50 year old man!?
I am a building inspector for new construction and all kinds of other things.
A woman called and set up an inspection. Usually I go out, do my inspection and then I’m done. I hardly ever see the contractors.
Well, this day was different. I was coming down off the roof of a rather large home. (Kinda Scary) But not anything that I am not used to. Well, I usually remember my entire report. But when I got off the ladder and turned around the contractor was standing there waiting…
I looked at him and completely forgot what I had just seen at the top of this monster of a house. And I REALLY didn’t feel like climbing a shaky ladder to re-do my inspection.
I just stood there, looking into this handsome mans eyes. Just something about his eyes looked innocent and caring. Even maybe interesting…
I introduced myself and told him quickly that I’d fax him the report. I just wanted to get out of there before I thought too much about the situation… (I’m married but we are split right now not major problems. We are just coming to an agreement in our lives. We still are teriffic friends we are just trying to find out if we make teriffic mates.)
I got back to my office and was sitting at my desk and one of the secretarys buzzed in and said that my husband was on the line.
I picked up the phone and said “Hey baby, how are you” Well it WASNT my husband…
It was him… The contractor.
He replied in a joking manner “Well hey Baby to you too!”
then asked about his report.
I had drawn up a report and given it to an assistant to fax it. I told him that I did not have time to go over it with him right now, but I’d call him at my earliest convience.
He agreed and then came up to my office as I was leaving for lunch.
He started talking and I told him to meet me at the resturant and I’d treat him to a client lunch to discuss his work.
we got there, he got out of his car first and opened my car door for me, then opened the resturant door and placed his hand in a respectful way at the small of my back to guide me inside where there were ALOT of people.
At first I was kind of like . . WTF but then I realized that I kinda liked it…
We talked at lunch about the house and future contracts.
STRICTLY PROFESSIONAL with some life talk..
He walked me to my car and I left. But the whole time I was thinking about how handsome and sweet and what a skilled (contractor) he was.
He knows I’m married and he knows the situation.
We kinda started flirting innocently. And ended up going out on a sort of mini-date.
There I found out his age… He’s 49, almost 50…
Not a bad thing. He’s a very hott looking 50 year old. Aged very well.
And it turns out that he’s kind of rich… But I’m more than able to take care of myself as well… And I PAY FOR DINNER. I’ve got no interest in his money…
The reason I brought it up was that rich people usually tend to have certian personality traits that can be somewhat… BAD…
But he’s NOT AT ALL like that… His workers are treated VERY WELL. He drove an hour away just to pick up one employee whos personal truck broke down and he went out that day and got him a newer truck. Just to be nice.
He’s a great boss, contractor, friend and opps… Husband…
His wife who I had talked to on previous jobs on the phone not knowing it was the same company because he has several companies.
But when I called and failed one job for minor VERY minor deficiencies, with me on the phone she started tearing him down. Calling him a worthless nothing who cant get anything right.
Several times since this I’ve talked to her… She doesnt know about my feelings toward him, but she’ll tell me how horrible he is. That he wouldnt buy her a new car last year… (She drives an 07 mercedes) She said that he calls her too much and sometimes wants him to leave her alone. And she told me that I should fail everything he has because he is a bad contractor… read more…
Resolved Question: i should have explained how i was cheated; and here is the story.?
I hope someone out there can help me with this problem. I hope some one would tell me what are the legal steps I can take to solve this, and maybe put an end to this game that most auto repair shop are playing to get more money out of our pocket.
It started like this; I took my car for inspection and I was told because the engine light is on can’t pass the test and they have to run diagnostics test and the charge for that would be $89.00, I told them this test was done and I was told it is the EGR( exhaust gas recirculation) system, and they told me that is not good, they have to do the test so they can pin point the problem and find the actual part that is not working and change that, not keep changing part until they get to bad one, we have to do the test our self. So they charged me for the inspection and told me you have fifteen days to solve the problem and bring it back for the inspection other wise you have to pay for the inspection again.
First of all if you want to do the repair and your are calling yourself specialist you must be able to find the defective part and replace it, and when you are charging people for labor what is the meaning of this diagnostics charge, isn’t this just another excuse to get more money from people? And when you did not do anything why did you charge me for the inspection?
I tried to solve the problem, I took my car to other places and I was told the problem is the EGR (code 401), so I bought the valve and I changed it, and it took me 15 minutes to change it for which some places were going to charge me 3 hours of labor to change it and after driving the car for 10 miles the engine light came back on and since I was not able to solve the problem I had no choice but to take the car to the same place before I lose that inspection and I did that and asked them to do what ever needed to be done so I can have my inspection. And I told them I have changed the EGR valve.
After about half an hour they told me;” the problem was the TRANSDUCER” and because I, never in the past have heard that word and never even seen that word in the TOYOTA book, I thought it’s better if I don’t say any thing. So I asked them how much this is going to cost? I was told “part and labor is going to be $ 229.00 and I said it is OK. And I went home.
After few hours I called them to see what happened to my car and they told me they changed the part and took the car out for the road test and after some driving the ENG light came back on and they had to look for the problem. And there is another part that they have to change!!! So what happened to pin pointing the problem?
To make the long story short; they called me after five pm and told me since they are going to be closed soon they can deliver my car and they asked for my credit card number they told me every thing is ok and they are going to run another test and put the sticker on my car and bring it to me.
They did that and they gave me the bill for $ 335.79. It was almost 6 pm on Saturday, Sep,28,08 or even later that they brought my car and their shop was closed and Sunday they are also closed, so I called them very early Monday morning and ask them to leave all the parts that they changed on my car, because I would like to pick those parts, immediately I have received this respond; “we do not keep the parts and we dumped them, I told them please get them out of the trash can even if you did so, I would like to have those parts back, I was told we will check.
After some time I have received a call and was informed that they do not have the parts, because the trash truck was there on Monday morning and pick them up and they are gone.
Believe me, I knew they are lying, and did not give up, by calling them and talking, and trying to reason with them, they come up with this story; we have find one of the parts it was under the table, but we can not find the other one, (this is the one that I told them it was working and you should not have changed that). At this time they offer me, “the best we can do for you is giving you $40.00 back”. I told him thank you and hang up.
I was not about to give up, I called the corporate office of that business and talk to a gentleman who I was told is in charge and will take care of this problem; I should mention that now it is almost 20 days past, and the gentleman told me, he is going to talk to the mechanic and people in that location and get back to me, and after few hours and couple of times calling me and asking question, he finally called me and said.
“I asked the mechanic who worked on your car to go and look for those parts and they find your parts you can pick them up. Now I have the parts but I am sure the part is not going to work this part was check at other place and it was OK I am positive that they have tampered with this part before they give it back to me to save themselves, so I hope some one can help me and guide me so maybe I can put an end to this non since that repair s
