Open Question: I have a film stuck in my head, but i don’t know the title. help?
there are 3 main characters, 2 guys and a girl. it starts with one guy who gets a new job and thinks he’s going to have a real big job when he ends up being a telephone customer support guy. he makes friends with the guy next to him and he has a plan to get lots of money. the plan was to blackmail the priest. they have proof that the priest has been watching child pornography on the internet, so they go to his house to collect the money and he ambushes them. so it all gets rough and a shot is fired. one of the cast kills the so called priest, then one of them throws him into a drain out in the garden. upon rooting through his stuff for the money, they come across a big pile of DVDs. the DVDs are ones of the priest torturing women, and he sells them on the internet. after almost running an inspector over on the getaway journey, they get caught with dead bodies in their car. There is lots of complications and the girl poisons the main guy and shoots the other. at the end of the film she gets picked up in a truck my the village murderer. its a comedy drama, and i cant think what the hell it is! help XD
Open Question: Do I have knob and tube wiring?
I am seriously considering purchasing a house that was built in 1905. The house is in excellent shape and has been well-maintained by all appearances. However, when I was there for a second look, my realtor noticed one line of knob & tube wiring. This was surprising because the house has a newer 100 AMP breaker panel with not just new wiring running in, but new wiring snaking out of it, professionally and cleanly mounted, leading all over the ceiling in the basement into the upper regions of the house.
I could not trace the source of the knob and tube wiring as one end disappeared behind a duct in the basement and the other end disappeared into the floor at an unusual location (near the back door entrance of the first floor).
I am not too concerned about the one lonely line – I’ll just rip it out of an inspector finds it to be live – but it made me concerned about the wiring in the rest of the two-storey house, the wiring in the walls.
The home owner swears that the person who did the panel upgrade and the rest of the wiring was a licensed electrician, but could not say that they were sure that the electrician replaced the wiring throughout the walls of the house. They did not remember the electrician breaking into any walls at all, but I did not read into this as the electrician could have snaked new lines throughout.
My concern was raised because I also noticed that the electrical outlets throughout the house are only two-pronged and there is only an average of one per room.
What are the chances of a licensed electrician installing a new breaking panel and replacing knob and tube wiring throughout the house with proper, newer wiring but not updating outlets or adding more outlets? What are the chances they installed new wiring in the basement ceiling and somehow tied it off to knob and tube wiring up in the walls? Remember, I am not talking about a simple breaker panel install; there is no knob-and-tube wiring leading from the panel into the house, only new wiring.
Is there any way for me to tell definitely I there is knob and tube wiring before blowing hundreds of bucks on a home inspection, after I’ve committed to purchase?
I am anxious because I cannot get a new insurance policy if there is knob and tube wiring which would affect my offer to purchase.
If there is knob and tube wiring in the walls as described, and the house has roughly a dozen outlets about a dozen lights, how much could that cost to replace?
Open Question: What would possess an organization responsible for safety-critical computerized systems not to have “Level 4?
automated testing” ?
