Voting Question: How do you go about checking your home for mold?
We just bought a home which passed the inspection, appraisal went well, and the termite inspection was clear.

My concern is that my husband has been waking up the last couple weeks with an itchy/bothersome throat. Today he said his throat is worse than it has been. It has been raining, if that matters.

I also have an 8 month old that sneezes a few times per day without fail. I just can’t remember if she was like that at our apartment, but that place was horrible and I think it would have been more prone to mold than the house.

Anyway, could mold be the problem? Or maybe the carpets need to be cleaned again (previous homeowners had them cleaned)

The inspector got in the crawl space so I just don’t know where to start. I see NO water damage anywhere. Should I start with the bathroom? And who checks for this kind of stuff?
We are going to change the air filter (which looks clean btw) just in case.

Resolved Question: What can we do legally about termites we found in our new house? In PA?
We live in PA. My husband and I purchased a house 6 months ago. The home inspection found termites. The previous owners then paid the cheapest guy in town to take care of them. Then about a month ago, we started to notice them all over the basement. They are swarming and we found damage and mud tunnels. We immediately called the exterminator that treated the house and he has made appointments with him and he just doesnt show up and stops answering his phone. We had another company come in to confirm they are termites and to give us an estimate, and they said there is NO evidence of a treatment even being done in the first place! What are our rights in PA? Are we responsible for paying all of these expenses when they were here long before we purchased this house? I am trying to find information but I cannot find anything!! PLEASE HELP!!
