Open Question: Can I get out of paying my tickets?
I got pulled over for an exhaust problem on my car and was ticketed for everything, No registration, insurance, inspection, illegal use of liscense plate, the list goes on, a total of $1094.50 in fines. I had an emergency and needed the car to drive only about 5 miles. The cop said he would give me a brake and let me drive home since I was less than a mile from my house. I am under 18 so I couldn’t lose my license or get any points on it. He never told me I would be getting the fines or had me sign anything. I know from past vialations that I usually have to sign the ticket then I get it in the mail. Since I didn’t sign anything is there anyway I could get out of paying the fines? Was I really even there If I didn’t sign anything? This was in Pennsylvania if that makes any difference.

Resolved Question: who is liable for a wobbly wall when it was inspected?
When I bought my house the real estate agency got a home inspector to inspect the home. The inspector gave a good inspection. Several months later we found on of the exterior was wobbled. We call the home inspector and the real estate agency, the inspector told us that he did not have insurance. Who do I need to sue?

Resolved Question: Driving with expired license/suspended registration/uninspected vehicle?
My boyfriend and I were driving a few days ago; I was the passenger. A cop noticed his expired inspection sticker and pulled him over. The cop ran checks on license and insurance and all that, and found that he had an expired license (his 21st b-day was a few days prior to the incident and he says he “forgot” to re-new it) so technically, he was driving without a license. Then the cops found that the registration for the car was suspended (most likely due to an insurance lapse caused by failure to notify the DMV and insurance agent his new address change), but my boyfriend said that he did not know it was suspended and I believe him because he went down to get insurance and notified the DMV just a couple of weeks ago, and even though the cop gave him a ticket for it, he said that the DMV is usually slow in processing that sort of stuff. And he couldn’t verify the insurance so the cop just took his word for it because he “didn’t want to add insult to injury.” The car wasn’t impounded and he let us go but told him that I was to drive back home because I had a valid license.

Now Chris has a court date next month for three misdemeanor charges and is facing fines he can’t afford, I’m sure. This is his first legal offense and I’m scared for what they might do. The driving without a valid license charge looks like a big one and I’m terrified that he will have to go to jail for it because that hurts me financially as well. If he loses his car then I can no longer attend school because I can’t afford my own. If he goes to jail, depending on how long it is, means that I can’t afford to pay rent without our combined incomes. We are going through very tough financial times as it is.

I told him how damn stupid he is for not getting his car inspected by the due date. He says there was something wrong with the engine light that the car would not pass and he needed money to fix, and then he just told me after the incident that he can delete codes so that the car will pass inspection. I’m pissed because of his carelessness and laziness to fix the problem which is what got him in trouble in the first place and he could have saved himself a lot of money if he just got the damn thing fixed.

So anyway, my question is what do you think will happen at the trial? Fines? Jail time? Loss of car? Etc. The cop was incredibly nice and gave him advice on how to beat the charges. I live in Upstate New York by the way.
Actually, he’s very smart. You know, he went to university and all. He just made a few dumb, careless mistakes. I’m sure if we dug into your past we wouldn’t find everything to be so peachy clean, would we?
