Voting Question: Taking forever to get a closing date. Anyone been in this situation?
We put in an offer on a short sale home in September. December we finally got bank approval. January 2nd, we ordered the inspections and payed $1000 to the title company (towards down payment). We were supposed to close shortly after, which would have been 2 weeks ago now. First issue was that the appraisal came back insufficient. The appraiser corrected the appraisal and sent it back. I thought we would be able to close at this point. Well then, the bank was requesting more information on my funds for down payment/closing costs, such as account statements and so forth. They have all of that, now we have been waiting all week for a form from the IRS called 4506T that proves my taxes that I filed were the ones sent to IRS. We have been waiting almost a week. The excuse from the bank is that they (as well as IRS) were closed Monday and short staffed Tuesday because of the inauguration. We set a tenative closing date for tomorrow, but now it does not look like it’s gonna happen. I just feel like I’m being put off. My mortgage company says not to worry; just IRS is running behind. But I am starting to worry, because every time we are about to close, something always comes up?
Has anyone been in a similar situation? What was the outcome?
Is there anything I can do?
Voting Question: In home daycare- Tax Deductions?
I just started a daycare in December and at the moment I am not licensed. However I am considering it and I am wondering if the things I will have to invest to pass inspection in will be tax deductible. Also I am currently watching 3 toddlers 5 days a week. Will this be worth the investment? Do you have any tips for a newcomer?
Items I am wondering about:
Cots/ rugs- They have to have separate sleeping areas.
Storage i.e. boxes coat racks used ONLY for my clients
Toys- not really expecting this one since one of the kiddos is my brother and he will play with them after hours.
Auto- During the summer I would like to take them to parks, museums, the zoo, with proper release forms of course.
Training Classes- I will have to be recertified in CPR and First Aid
Thanks you for your help

My husband and I are IMing about some house finances. Him: “I will call them and make it happen”. Me: “make it so!”. Him: “engage!”. Not too shabby for a totally non-geeky guy =)
