Resolved Question: Procedures on seeking Child Custody?
My Boyfriend and are wanting to seek full custody of his daughter. We have the money for the intial lawyers retainer and filing however not having gone through the procedure before we were wondering if anyone who had gone through it knew of anything additional we needed to prepare for like home inspection, evaluations, things like that.We believe we have a relatively good case.
It is important that we get his daughter away from his ex wife. We have previously had to have a restraining order against her. She has followed us, staked herself outside my house for hours on end. Threatened to ram her truck into our vehicles, broke into his apartment twice (before we lived together), once while he was there and refused to leave unless he has sex with her (Im not joking), hit him while he was on the phone with the police to get her removed. Wrote complaint letters to my work about me and my work performance trying to get me fired (though she is not allowed to call or come into my work so they are bogus), calls both of us endless restricting her number (so it wasn’t a violation of the order but the court at some point is suppose to supeona her phone records). Committed fraud using his social security number. Stalked and harassed most of his friends and parents. Texted friends pretending to be him (like they wouldn’t notice it came from a different number) trying to get information on plans we may have for going out or things we were doing so she could be there. Drives by our house screaming profanities out her car window. The list goes on and on. So far she has only gone to court on 2 charges and has plead both down to class B misdemeanors. She is currently in court ordered therapy and cannot come around our residence or harass him as conditions of her probation which she is on for 6 months. AND SHE DOES ALL OF THIS IN FRONT OF HIS DAUGHTER OR WITH HIS DAUGHTER IN HER VEHICLE!
Please let us know how we can best be prepared entering this custody battle (which I am sure it will be). She won’t give up custody she uses his daughter as bait to get at him, me, his family.

AND before someone makes a wise comment know he did not have sex with her when she broke in, he called the police
It is also very annoying to know she is using her child suport to buy gas to follow us around, be able to take days of work to stalk us, pay her court fines and court ordered therapy, it’s like we are funding our own stalking!

Emma considering he lives with me and his daughter would be living in my house and I would be listed as a legal guardian it does concern me.

Emma again he has already stated I will be listed as a legal guardian, so please I am seriously asking for help here not trollish attempts to make assumptions and slam ppl in order to seem “cool”.
Resolved Question: No home inspection - found Fire code violations?
Hi, My brother purchased an apartment house (first time buyer), the owner took the paper (no bank/mortgage company involvement) and he found out that he had several fire code violations (all were violations at the time of sale) The cost to correct the violations was over 8K! He didn’t get an inspection (someone he knew and trusted). Is there anything legally he can do to get at least some of his money back or is it a waste of time because he didn’t get an inspection? Thanks.

I have a valiant boiler approximately 16 years old and is oil fired forced hot water system. I am selling this property and during a home inspection the inspector noted that we need to “repair the TPR valve and install a pressure relief valve and extend it to within 6 inches of the floor”. A heating guy came out and said that because it is badly corroded that it cannot be repaired and we have to replace the entire boiler and hot water heater and will cost $7000 for this. This seems crazy since it is all operational and it seems that this should be repairable…but he said it was not possible to repair. PLEASE HELP…we’re going to loose the sale which is supposed to close on Tuesday!!!!
I had to back out of going to Aquire the Fire because we’re getting our home inspection Saturday morning. What will Ron Luce do without me?
